In May of 2007, Galvin�s eligibility worker requested a copy of the child�s birth certificate and Social Security Card. That same month, an anonymous tip came to the District Attorney�s Public Assistance Fraud Unit, complaining that Galvin was receiving welfare for a child she did not have. An investigation revealed Galvin�s faked pregnancy and birth of a child, Cornell said. Galvin received $4,501 in cash aid and $426 in food stamps before aid was stopped in June of 2007, Cornell said. Galvin was on parole at the time she committed these offenses for a 2004 conviction of a similar crime, Cornell said.
